Building a Great Team
Doc Robyn’s book – Stop The Drama! The Ultimate Guide to Female Teams is set up so a coach, parent, teacher, administrator or athlete can use is to create a great team. The tips and ideas are easy to understand and implement for anyone willing to invest the time in doing so. 250 pages but you can read only the section(s) that apply to you and your team.
Laying the foundation – Doc Robyn gives a 60-90 minute presentation sharing the why and how of using language powerfully and engaging in effective communication and productive conflict. With it your team can perform to its potential in any storm. Without it, you will be buffeted by every change to your win/loss record.
Setting the framework – Doc Robyn runs half or full day interactive workshop – Teams will learn about individual and team communication fingerprints and how theirs is helping or hurting their success. Sessions are interactive and follow the teach-show-practice-discuss method. Participants will come away with tips, tricks and ideas they can use to engage in powerful conversations with each other to achieve success. (Great for student-athlete teams as well as coach teams)
Stop The Drama! – A minimum of a day, including Doc Robyn meeting with athletes, coaches and administration as appropriate – There are times when a team ends up in a bad place. It can be caused by a toxic teammate, a death on the team or any combination of negative events. The response is often to fire coaches or dismiss players; but that doesn’t have to be the case. How do you pick up the pieces and start to rebuild? At the end of this intensive day there will be a game plan with buy in for creating a great team and recommendations for follow up opportunities or leader training will be provided.
Make your team weatherproof – A semester long team development program, designed and implemented and customized to the needs of the team by Doc Robyn – Great teams don’t just happen. They take planning, practice, feedback and more practice. Don’t wander around in the dark wondering what it takes to develop a team that fires on all cylinders all the time. Becoming and Maintaining a Great Coach
Executive coaching for coaches – Timeline and number of sessions customized to each coach by Doc Robyn – Being a great coach isn’t just about where you put X’s and O’s and the techniques you provide to your athletes. You are part psychologist, part mom, part dad, a little bit nutritionist, a lot of shoulder to cry on and toss in teaching study skills. You may or may not succeed using the school of hard knocks as your guide.
